What is Clubhouse Kids?

Clubhouse Kids is a developmental and therapeutic day program designed to prepare our young learners for a seamless transition into school. Our program focuses on teaching essential classroom routines, engaging children in group activities, and developing vital social skills.

Within each group, our team focuses on integrating early childhood skills, individualized therapy, and social group learning to ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive. Our mission is to create a fun, supportive, and engaging environment that nurtures social, communication, and life skills and helps each child prepare for the next step in their journey.

How Do Our Groups Work?

Each child is placed into one of our specialized groups based on their current abilities and age. This tailored approach ensures that every child receives the appropriate level of support and challenge, fostering optimal growth and development. By grouping children with peers of similar ages and skill levels, we create an environment that promotes both individual and collective progress.

Early Learner Group (Age: 2-4): In the Early Learner Group, we emphasize familiarizing young children with classroom routines and encouraging engagement during group activities. Our play-based curriculum model helps children learn and grow through fun, interactive experiences. This foundation stage is crucial for developing a love for learning and building the basic skills needed for future educational settings.

Intermediate Group (Age: 5-7): In the Intermediate Group, children develop the behavioral skills needed to thrive in a group learning environment. They gain independence with classroom routines, self-advocacy, social skills, and more, setting a strong foundation for future educational success. This group focuses on nurturing confidence and preparing children for the next steps in their academic journey.

Our Daily Schedule

Our ABA Therapy program is structured using a block schedule system in order to support a variety of different clinical recommendations while maximizing each child’s access to social opportunities and group activities.

Both the AM and PM sessions of Clubhouse Kids follow the same schedule, ensuring your child receives the full benefit of our daily program regardless of the time that they attend.

Building Essential Skills

Our program focuses on teaching children the essential skills they need to succeed in school and beyond. Through our comprehensive and individualized approach, we nurture each child’s abilities, promoting independence, social interaction, and communication. Some of the skills we work on include:

  • Behavioral Strategies: Teaching self-regulation and appropriate responses.
  • Communication: Enhancing both verbal and non-verbal communication abilities.
  • Social and Play Skills: Encouraging positive interactions and cooperative play.
  • Group Learning: Fostering skills for participation in group settings.
  • School Readiness: Preparing for the academic and social demands of school.

What to Expect When You Join Clubhouse Kids

This program is designed specifically for children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis. Group placement is dependent on your child’s age, skill set, and schedule.

Please bring a backpack for your child with any needed personal items including at least 1 change of clothes in case clothing gets dirty or wet from an accident or during play. If your child wears pull-ups or diapers send enough for a full day as well as wipes. Please pack a lunch, snacks, and drinks daily for your child or send enough food for the week. Check with your child’s program manager before bringing toys or favorite activities from home.

On your child’s first day of therapy your child will begin the pairing process with staff and the facility. RBTs will focus on building rapport with your child and making ABA a fun and exciting experience that they want to participate in.

Due to HIPPA laws, caregivers are not allowed to attend therapy with their child. However, if your child has a hard time with the transition, you can come back into the clinic to get the child settled and comfortable in the new space. Caregivers are more than welcome to remain in the lobby for as long as they would like.

On your child’s first day your child will have direct sessions 1-3 hours in length with behavior technicians (BT) who have been assigned to his team. This is who you will see at drop off and pick up and they will be happy to tell you all about your kid’s day! Your child’s Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will also supervise during parts of their day to train the team on the implementation of the treatment plan. If you have any questions about specific protocols or behavior plans, your BCBA will be the person to ask!
