ABA Therapy & Autism Services

Today’s ABA Therapy

Today’s ABA therapy is a collaborative, compassionate, and evidence-based therapy approach that focuses on teaching meaningful skills in a supportive, child-centered environment.

ABA Therapy is an essential part of our comprehensive autism services program, serving children and families across Chicago, IL and its suburbs. It plays a pivotal role in helping children reach their full potential by addressing the root causes of challenging behaviors and building essential life skills.

At The Clubhouse, we begin by getting to know your child through a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA), which helps us identify strengths, challenges, and goals. This allows our team to develop a highly individualized plan that includes behavior support, communication development, and social skills training tailored to your child’s needs.

Every child is met with care, consistency, and encouragement, so they can grow with confidence at their own pace.

Why Does ABA Therapy Work?

ABA therapy helps children build essential life skills like communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation. It also supports families by reducing challenging behaviors through personalized behavior intervention plans, making daily routines more manageable and consistent.

As a proven approach to autism treatment and support, ABA is grounded in the science of how people learn and change behavior over time. Using data-driven methods and positive reinforcement, therapists help children develop lasting skills in a structured, supportive environment.

Discrete Trial Training (DTT)

DTT is a structured teaching method that breaks skills into small, manageable steps. Each step is taught through repetition and positive reinforcement to help the child master specific behaviors.

Natural Environment Teaching (NET)

NET uses a child’s natural surroundings such as home, playtime, or school to teach skills in real-life settings. This approach helps children apply what they learn in everyday situations.

Pivotal Response Training (PRT)

PRT targets key areas like motivation and self-management that influence many other behaviors. It encourages learning through child-led activities, helping boost engagement and independence.

Other methods like modeling, prompting and fading, and generalization are used to support skill development across different environments. These techniques help children not only learn new skills but also use them with different people and in various settings. Therapy sessions may take place in our clinic, in the home, or in school, depending on what works best for the child and family.

Program Structure

Every child’s therapy journey at The Clubhouse begins with a personalized plan built on their unique needs and strengths. Our structured process ensures steady progress, meaningful goals, and ongoing support for your family.

Here’s a quick peek of our process:

1- Initial Assessment

We start with a full evaluation and FBA to understand your child’s behavior and learning style. This helps us create a solid foundation for their therapy plan.

2- Goal Setting

Based on the assessment, we develop a customized Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) with clear, measurable goals. These goals are built to support everyday success at home, school, and in the community.

3- Schedule Options

Therapy schedules are flexible and tailored to your child’s needs. We offer multiple session lengths and frequency options.

4- Progress Tracking

Therapists track your child’s progress during each session using data-driven methods. This ensures we stay on target and adjust as needed.

5- Supervision by BCBA

A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) oversees every program for quality and effectiveness. They also coach therapists and meet with families regularly.

6- Revision

As your child grows and makes progress, their therapy plan is updated to stay relevant. We believe in flexible, evolving care that keeps your child moving forward.
