Pragmatics in Action!
(Speech and Counseling)
Establishing friendships and play skills is a vital part of childhood. Our Speech Therapy and Counseling staff work with the children to develop social communication
skills, like turn taking and reciprocity, understanding the perspective of others, and body language recognition, through fun theme-based activities. Participants in this
group must have adequate language skills to carry on a conversation, be able to follow directions independently, and be independent when participating in a group.
Ages 8-11 Tuesday: 4:15-5:15 pm
I Can Handle This
(O.T. and Counseling)
This unique group is designed to focus on social skills for the preschooler. In this group, our Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Occupational Therapist work with the
children on being a good sport, getting along with others, developing friendships, expressing feelings, and body language. Each session will include free time to work on
art and to have a snack. Please send a drink and small snack with your child to each session so they can participate in this activity.
OT and Social Work prescription required.

Feeding the Picky Eater!
(O.T. and Speech)
Picky Eating can result from sensory, organic (reflux, etc.) or learned behavioral responses to food. Our Speech and Occupational Therapists work with kids in our fully
equipped kitchen. Our play based, multi-sensory approach is fun, motivating and...effective!! Parents enjoy the support they get from therapists as well as other
parents.

Karate Kids!
(O.T. and Counseling)
Exercise, coordination, and FUN! Our LCSW, teams up with our licensed O.T. to create a dynamic program that emphasizes coordination, balance, motor planning, and
strength -- and helps children of all abilities develop focus, attention, and self-control. Participants should be independent in group.

Chatter Club
(Speech Therapy)
Speech and language development set in play, with theme-based classes that focus on increasing expressive communication and sound production. Our therapists use music,
art, and other exciting activities to enhance participation and peer interaction through verbal language. Participants should be independent in group.

Friendship, Fun & Games!

Sometimes the greatest challenge for children who struggle with social skills is using them effectively during everyday childhood activities. In this group, children
participate in fun and games while our Speech Therapists guide them in refining their peer interaction skills like turn taking, dealing with winning and losing,
“chatting”, perspective taking, respecting the feelings of others, and self-regulation. Participants should be independent, and ready to focus on “fine-tuning” their
social skills. Min/Max: 4/8

Sing and Swing!

Our Occupational, Developmental, and Speech Therapists join forces to help children cope with sensory, motor and communication challenges in this engaging group. Natural
play with peers is used to foster improved interaction and overall increased ability to cope with the environment. Kids enjoy the gym, art room, Clubhouse Café and music
adventures. OT PRESCRIPTION REQUIRED

Hear to Play!
(Speech Therapy)
Kids with hearing loss benefit from the social-emotional support and company of their deaf and hard of hearing peers. Friendships in this small community often last for a
lifetime. Whether the child is learning to listen with hearing aids or a cochlear implant, or using basic signs to facilitate communication, this group allows children to
experience social growth with their deaf and hard of hearing peers, while our diverse staff addresses each individual need.
